Monomaterial (without glue)

To ensure that your products can be used safely at the point of use, you need, among other things, tear-resistant, individually marked labels without adhesive surfaces.

Definition of monomaterial

In addition to an immense selection of self-adhesive label materials, we also offer you a wide variety of monomaterials.

That means: label materials without adhesive surface and without backing paper.

In fact, in the context of monomaterials, there are also products such as transfer paper with permanent dry adhesive called Pressure Tac. This ensures that the label material is only adhesive to itself. Such labels are used, for example, by airlines as tags on the suitcase during baggage check-in.

Available material types & properties

Roughly summarized, there is the option of using paper, film or composite material in the form of rolls, sheets (individual cut) and Leporello fold.

The different types of material are able to combine various advantages. These include the properties waterproof, UV-resistant, tear-resistant, printable by thermo and inkjet printers and the suitability for direct food contact.

In addition to the obvious options such as paper or cardboard materials in various thicknesses, we also have a number of other mono materials available. The pure cardboard materials have the advantage of being easily recyclable, among other things.

Composite materials, i.e. cardboard material with a foil insert, are also available so that the externally pure cardboard label gets an increased tear resistance. The film layer can be positioned both as an intermediate layer and on the front or back. The film also ensures increased moisture resistance.

In addition, we offer HDPE films (high-density polyethylene) and Tyvek material (fine fiber fleece). Both are comparable in terms of their tear resistance.

The different materials are available as matt and glossy. We can supply you with pre-printed or blank labels that can be printed using direct thermal, thermal transfer or inkjet printing.

Control punchings can be attached for scanning by the different printer types. They can be added on one or both sides. Alternatively, there is the possibility of using blackmarks.

Material thicknesses from 70µm to 250µm and more are available, depending on the printing system used.

Areas of application for mono material

The materials mentioned are used in a wide variety of areas. This includes the textile and clothing industry, for example in the form of textile labels on regular clothings. Horticulture and tree nurseries also use the above-mentioned materials to label plants.

A comparable application can be found in the construction industry or in the building industry. Here, manufacturers mark steel beams, structural steel or precast concrete, for example, so that they can be assigned correctly. For such use, pre-cut label formats are recommended as a loop label, for example. These can be attached to objects and, with their tear-resistant properties, ensure that the products is clearly identified.

The automotive sector also has a wide range of applications, be it labeling in the engine compartment or directly attached to seat belts. In addition, the materials are used in logistics by automobile manufacturers and their suppliers as VDA goods trailer. This ensures that the product takes the right path from the start.

In addition, monomaterials are used as plug-in cards. Use as visitor badges or in ticketing for events is also common. Appealing pre-printed labels are particularly interesting here.
